Reboot

Much like virtually every super-hero movie franchise in the past decade, I’ve decided to do a reboot of my blog. I’ve posted sporadically on this page for the past two and a half years, never consistent with my posting and to be honest posting things without much substance. I never really wrote to communicate my thoughts. I was thinking about this the other day and came to this realization: I was always writing to impress someone.  Whether it be my peers, or a girl, or simply myself. I would look at my two to three paragraph posts about whatever and think to myself, “I hope so and so reads this” or “I bet everyone will think I am so cultured and insightful” or even “I really like this version of myself that this blog is portraying”. I didn’t ever write what I was truly thinking; I would write what I wish I were thinking. To be fair, this is just an overgeneralization, there were some posts that were truly from the heart but they were few and far in-between, just like there were bright spots in the old Batman movies (i.e. Jack Nicholson).  With all that said, I decided to delete everything and start over. Think of this as the Dark Knight trilogy, I’m replacing Michael Keeton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney with Christian Bale and enlisting Christopher Nolan to direct, to, ultimately, make this franchise way better than it was before.
